Founder & Managing Partner
Rashid Sultan is the founder and partner of Messilah Ventures. He is also the owner of Pet Land, Kuwait’s premier pet boarding facility.
Previously, Rashid led the turnaround of both Wendy’s Middle East and Costa Coffee Kuwait for Alghanim Industries. Prior to that Rashid held several roles at The Sultan Center, including running their portfolio of convenience stores and being responsible for their expansion into new territories and formats.
Rashid started his career in New York, in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs. Rashid holds an MBA from London Business School, where he concentrated his studies on the need for Venture Capital in the GCC, and received his undergraduate degree in Economics from The University of Chicago.
Mona Al-Mukhaizeem is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Sirdab Lab, a Kuwait-based startup hub and entrepreneurial network that provides a platform to educate and help aspiring entrepreneurs through different stages of the startup journey.
Mona worked in Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young and as an Investment Manager at Global Investment House. In 2012, she helped launch Alchemist Accelerator, a venture-backed business accelerator in Silicon Valley, and was a consultant at Naxuri Capital, a seed fund investing firm. She specializes in seed funding, private equity, and venture capital.
She has an MBA from Hult International Business School, San Francisco and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Kuwait University.
Amira is intimately involved with all aspects of Savour, including its strategy, operations and startup selection. Most importantly, Amira is responsible for the management and execution of the yearly accelerator program from facilitating class discussions, all the way to hosting Demo Day.
Amira previously spent 2016 exploring programs for Mefazec incubator. Her focus was in categorizing Kuwait’s startup ecosystem concerning developing approaches to raise awareness about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kuwait to drive participation and understanding among the youth.
Preceding that Amira was a Marketing Officer at MMC Catering, a well-established food and Beverage company that is known for its franchises and locally created restaurant concepts. Amira assisted in the management of marketing outputs in terms of concept and franchise development, branding, and key market research.
Prior to that Amira was part of the startup that brought Kuwait its first large scale food festival.
Amira has a degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts.
Ghadeer is facilitating a collaborative environment for entrepreneurs seeking guidance and investment opportunities from Savour Ventures.
Ghadeer developed a strong background in problem-solving, business analysis and innovation while studying established startups and working on the creation and execution of lean startups as a part of her graduation project in California. She is keen to apply those insights while working in the MENA region.
In 2010, Ghadeer was selected by EQUATE Petrochemical Company for a scholarship with only two competitive seats, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship from the California State University of Fullerton.
